New Delhi: Four sandstone replicas of the Konark wheels have been installed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan in New Delhi.
An official stated that the purpose of installing the Konark wheels is to highlight and promote India’s rich heritage to visitors. This initiative is part of broader efforts to incorporate traditional cultural and historical elements into Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Konark Sun Temple, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, represents the pinnacle of Odishan temple architecture and is designed to resemble a grand chariot for the Sun God. The Konark wheels serve as significant symbols of India’s cultural heritage.
