Agra, June 3: 6 sisters who went to take a bath in the Yamuna river in Agra drowned. Their house is just 800 meters away from the place where this accident happened. Before drowning, 6 sisters were making a reel on mobile. Police has also found this video.
Before the 6 sisters, 4 cousins of the same family had gone to take bath in the Yamuna river. The brothers tried to save the drowning sisters, but when they too started drowning, they let go of the sisters’ hands.
A rescue operation was carried out with the help of a steamer and divers present 2 km away from the site of the incident. After 2 hours, the sisters were found in the river about 1.5 km away. All 6 girls were taken out. Three real sisters and one cousin sister had died.
When the police personnel gave CPR to the two girls, they started breathing. They were admitted to the hospital in critical condition and were referred to a higher centre. This incident is from the village of Nagla Swami Sikandra.
The first 4 cousins went to take a bath, then 6 sisters followed them
Suresh and Dinesh’s family lives in Nagla Swami village in Sikandra. Both are brothers. On Tuesday morning at 10 am, Suresh’s daughters Muskan (17), Sandhya (15), Divya (14) were going to take bath. Dinesh’s daughter Naina (13) also went with them. Along with them, aunt’s two daughters Sonam and Shivani who live in Teedi Bagiya of Agra also went to take bath.
Before them, four cousins of the same family had also gone to bathe on the banks of the Yamuna river. The Yamuna stream flows just 800 meters away from the house. The sisters reached there and started making videos of themselves bathing in the water on their mobile phones. The six sisters were holding hands. Two videos of this have also surfaced, in which the sisters are seen bathing. They are shooting the video like a reel.
Brother said- Sisters started drowning together, we jumped to save them
According to the cousins, it had rained a few days back. Water had filled up many ditches near the river. All the sisters started drowning together after stepping into one such ditch. Two brothers jumped into the Yamuna river to save them. They pulled Sonam and Muskan out, but one of the sisters caught hold of the brother’s leg. Due to which he also went into deep water.
According to the brother, he then let go of his sister’s hand and came out. After this, they called the village. Within 10 minutes, the family members reached the river. The rescue operation began. Because, the other 4 sisters had been swept away.
A steamer was present in the river at a distance of 2 km from the incident spot. The villagers called divers from there. After this, a rescue operation was carried out with the steamer in the river. The bodies of 4 sisters were found 1.5 km away from the incident spot. They have been sent to the hospital.
Muskan was to get married, preparations were going on at home
Muskan’s godhbharai was done 7 days ago. Her marriage was to take place, preparations were going on at home. Family members told – Ganga Dussehra is on 5 June. Aunt’s two daughters Sonam and Shivani had come home for this reason. She was going to take a bath with everyone on Ganga Dussehra.

Additional CP Ram Badan Singh said- 6 girls had gone to take bath in Yamuna river in Nagla Swami village. While bathing they went into deep water. They started drowning due to slipping of feet. First 2 girls were drowning, in an attempt to save them the other 4 also went into deep water.
4 people died in the accident, while 2 were still breathing when they were pulled out of the river. Policemen also gave CPR to the girls, 2 girls have been referred to a higher center. All four are daughters of the same family. Three of them are real sisters, while the fourth girl is a cousin, while 2 had come to their aunt’s house.
