SC: No Retest and No systemtic breach in NEET-UG 2024

New Delhi: In the hearing of the NEET case, the Supreme Court refused to order ReNEET, i.e., re-examination.

The fifth hearing in the NEET case was held on Tuesday in front of the CJI’s bench. The CJI said we cannot decide on re-examination without concrete evidence of a paper leak. The entire picture may change after the CBI investigation, but today we cannot say under any circumstances that the paper leak is not limited to Patna and Hazaribagh.

Earlier, the CJI said the NTA’s answer key was correct. We had it investigated by an expert team.

During the debate, when the petitioners’ lawyer, Mathews Nedumpara, stood up to speak, the CJI asked him to speak after Advocate Narendra Hooda came to the gallery, and then the CJI got angry.

The CJI said you cannot get up and go to the gallery like this. Call someone for security. On this, Advocate Mathews left the courtroom. After a while, he returned and apologized to the CJI.

Lawyers Narendra Hooda, Sanjay Hegde, and Mathews Nedumpara are arguing on behalf of the petitioners, while Solicitor General Tushar Mehta is on behalf of the NTA.

The court had sought reports from the NTA, Central Government, and CBI in the case. We heard the case for 4 days. We also heard the side of CBI’s Additional Director, Mr. Krishna. We have reserved the decision after hearing from all the parties. In a case where the decision affects 23 lakh children, the decision has to be given as soon as possible.
