Dehradun, July 4: Life in Uttarakhand has been badly affected due to continuous rain. Rain, landslides are happening in many places, due to which the roads are closed, not only this, the Chardham Yatra is also being stopped intermittently due to bad weather. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of heavy rain for the next week.
Due to heavy rains, the road on the Kedarnath route is getting blocked continuously. Due to debris and stones falling in the small parking area near Gaurikund, the road used for the shuttle service as well as the pedestrian route, has been completely blocked. Due to the complete closure of movement here, the devotees have been kept at safe places in Gaurikund and the Sonprayag area. The route has been made pedestrian-friendly by the concerned working agency, PWD, working continuously at this place.
Passengers are being taken to safe places
The passengers stranded at Gaurikund are being sent towards Sonprayag under police protection. At present, the road near Munkatiya is also blocked.
