New Delhi: During the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of building future-ready cities in India. He urged the central government and state authorities to accelerate development efforts, highlighting that a united team approach could help achieve any goal.

PM Modi stressed that rapid urbanization requires growth, innovation, and sustainability to be key drivers for urban development. He also advocated for states to promote tourism by developing at least one world-class tourist destination in each state, which would benefit neighboring areas as well.

Underlining the collective aspiration of India’s 140 crore citizens to become developed, Modi called on every state to strive for progress, asserting that a developed India depends on each region’s growth.

He also highlighted the need to increase women’s participation in the workforce, encouraging policies that promote respectful inclusion.

The theme of the meeting, “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047,” aims to lay down strategies for making India a developed nation by 2047, focusing on entrepreneurship, skill development, and sustainable employment opportunities. The event serves as a platform for dialogue between the Centre and states to align efforts toward these goals.
