Indore Airport receives bomb threat on e-mail, probe underway

Indore Airport receives bomb threat on e-mail

Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received a bomb threat email on Saturday night, prompting the police to file a First Information Report (FIR). The sender also threatened to target other airports across the country. Additional Commissioner of Police, Amit Singh, stated, “We received a threat email last night. The sender threatened to blow up additional airports as well. Following an application from the airport security personnel of the CISF, we have registered an FIR. Our goal is to thoroughly investigate this matter.”

This incident marks the fourth bomb threat received by Indore Airport this year, and it appears the threat was sent from the dark web to the airport authority’s email address. Singh mentioned, “Our technical teams are currently working to identify those responsible for this act. We are on high alert and in constant coordination with the airport authority. So far, we have found no evidence.”

On the previous day, Vadodara Airport in Gujarat also received a bomb threat via email. ACP Vadodara, GB Bambhaniya, reported that all relevant departments were notified about the threat, and both the inner and outer areas of the airport were thoroughly searched by dog squads. A joint meeting involving the Airport Authority, Central Intelligence Bureau, state intelligence bureau, and police was convened. The Commissioner of Police has assigned the Cyber Crime Team to investigate the matter further. ACP Bambhaniya added that security measures have been heightened in the airport’s surrounding areas.
