J&K Kulgam Encounter: 4 personnel including ASP injured in gunfight

Srinagar: In recent development in the ongoing encounter in Kulgam, Three army soldiers and an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) have been injured. All four have been taken to the hospital. Two to three terrorists are suspected to be hiding. After the information, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army personnel launched a search operation and further an encounter.

An encounter is underway between security personnel and terrorists in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, said Kashmir Zone Police on Saturday morning. The encounter started in the Adigam Devsar area of the Kulgam district.

“Encounter has started at Adigam Devsar area of #Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice,” said Kashmir Zone Police in a social media post on X on Saturday.

On the other hand, on Friday, September 27, the police exposed a terror module in Awantipora, Pulwama. The police arrested 6 terrorist associates of Jaish-e-Mohammed. They used to train youths in terrorism. 5 IEDs, 30 detonators, 17 IED batteries, 2 pistols, 3 magazines, 25 rounds, 4 hand grenades and Rs 20,000 cash were recovered from them.

Earlier, on September 22, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district.
