J&K Polls: LoP Rahul Gandhi to address two election rallies, polling for second phase on Sept 25

Srinagar: Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will address two election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, September 23. Rahul will address the first rally in Poonch’s Surankote at 11 am. This will be followed by a second rally in Srinagar’s Shalteng constituency at 2 pm.

Rahul will appeal for votes for Congress-National Conference alliance candidate Shahnawaz Choudhary in Surankote. He will seek support for Congress state president Tariq Hameed Karra in Srinagar.

The campaign for the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is ending on September 23. Voting will be held for 26 seats in the state on September 25. Voting will be held in Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts of the Kashmir region besides Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu region.

The Jammu and Kashmir elections are scheduled to be held in 3 phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The results will be declared on October 8. Congress and the National Conference have formed an alliance in Kashmir. Out of 90 seats, NC is contesting on 51 and Congress on 32 seats.

There will be a friendly fight on 5 seats. 2 seats have been given to CPI (M) and Panthers Party. Congress has decided the names of 40-star campaigners. These include the names of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia and Priyanka, Rahul Gandhi, and others.

On the other hand, BJP has announced candidates on 62 out of 90 seats in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP has fielded candidates on all 43 seats of Jammu division. The party is contesting on 19 out of 47 seats in Kashmir. BJP will support independent candidates on the remaining 28 seats.
