Kejriwal "destined" for Tihar jail, should become CM there: Congress leader Udit Raj

New Delhi: Amidst ongoing speculation about Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal potentially aiming for a Rajya Sabha seat, Congress leader Udit Raj remarked that such a move wouldn’t shield him from allegations, asserting that Kejriwal is “destined” to end up in Tihar jail. In an interview, Raj emphasized Kejriwal’s activist background but expressed doubt about his ability to evade the accusations against him. He joked that Kejriwal should focus on reforming prisoners in Tihar if he ends up there.

The rumors regarding Kejriwal’s Rajya Sabha intentions surfaced after AAP nominated current MP Sanjiv Arora for the Ludhiana West assembly by-election, leading to speculations about the possibility of Kejriwal filling the now-vacant seat. Meanwhile, BJP MP Anurag Thakur labeled Kejriwal the “kingpin” of a liquor scam, accusing him of attempting to enter Rajya Sabha “through the backdoor.” He stated that 14 CAG reports had been withheld from the Vidhan Sabha to prevent their corruption details from coming to light. Thakur noted that the reports are now public thanks to CM Rekha Gupta’s actions, firmly linking Kejriwal to the scam. He also suggested that the Punjab government was being remotely managed by Kejriwal, asking the people of Punjab if they wanted him as their MP.
