BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh expressed support for Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent comments, predicting that the ‘jungle raj’ under Mamata Banerjee’s governance in West Bengal will end by 2026. He stated, “The lotus will bloom in Bengal, ushering in better times.”
In an interview, Chugh echoed Shah’s assertion that if the BJP gains power in 2026, infiltration in the state will cease entirely. Shah had remarked that West Bengal, being a bordering state, suffers from state-sponsored infiltration, and the only way to resolve this issue is for the BJP to take control.
Chugh highlighted that the central government has raised valid concerns regarding Bangladeshi infiltration, especially in Bengal and Jharkhand, criticizing state governments for prioritizing short-term electoral gains over long-term solutions. He called on state administrations to collaborate with the central government to safeguard national unity and integrity.
Additionally, Chugh condemned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for politicizing the pollution crisis instead of addressing it effectively. He accused AAP of failing to produce a comprehensive ten-year report on pollution control, claiming that their leadership has allowed Delhi’s environment to deteriorate, leading to significant health issues for its residents. He noted that life expectancy in the capital has decreased by a decade, yet AAP remains unresponsive and lacks a concrete plan to tackle these pressing problems, relying instead on mere rhetoric.
