Maha Kumbh: Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara to take out grand procession in Prayagraj today

Prayagraj: The Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara will host a grand procession today as part of the Maha Kumbh celebrations in Prayagraj.

The event is set to begin at 11 A.M., featuring a large gathering of sadhus and seers making their way to the Maha Kumbh cantonment. They will start from the Shri Maujgiri Ashram and head towards the Triveni Marg Akhara’s camp.

Leading the procession will be notable figures such as Mahants, Mahamandaleshwars, Jagadgurus, and Naga sadhus, promising a spectacular display. The procession will include chariots, carriages, and horses, accompanied by musical bands from Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, enhancing the grandeur of the event.

The Mahamandaleshwar of the Akhara will be riding in a silver howdah, while Naga sadhus will take the lead on horseback. Mahant Hari Giri, the International Patron of Juna Akhara, along with President Mahant Premgiri Maharaj, will oversee the arrangements.

This procession follows the grand entry of the sadhus and sages from the Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara into Sangam city last month, marking the beginning of their participation in the Maha Kumbh.

Under Mahant Hari Giri’s leadership, the previous procession started from Ramapur in Andawa and concluded at the Shri Maujgiri Panch Dashnam, featuring well-equipped chariots, carts, and horses, with sants riding in royal style to the beat of drums and musical instruments. Crowds gathered along the streets to welcome them and the sants from various parts of the world.

The Maha Kumbh festival, taking place on the banks of the Sangam in Prayagraj, will officially kick off with the first major bathing day on Makar Sankranti, January 13. This significant religious gathering is expected to attract millions of devotees and pilgrims, showcasing the event’s spiritual importance and cultural heritage.
