New Delhi: The North West District Special Staff of Delhi Police arrested a man from Ghaziabad for allegedly threatening to kill Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The suspect, who was intoxicated at the time, initially called to speak with his estranged wife before issuing the death threat to the Chief Minister. He is a law graduate and reportedly upset after his wife left him.

During questioning, the man tried to mislead investigators, and police recovered fake identity cards from him. Authorities are continuing to interrogate him further.

The police began their investigation on June 6 after Ghaziabad Police alerted them about the threat. Late on June 5, Ghaziabad Police received a call from an unidentified individual threatening to kill the Delhi Chief Minister, prompting an immediate response from Delhi Police. The caller could not be reached afterward, and officials are still examining the case.
