Massive blast at firecracker factory in Saharanpur; Multiple feared dead; Rescue operations underway

Saharanpur: A massive explosion took place in a firecracker factory in Deoband, Saharanpur. Many people are feared dead. There were about 9 people in the factory at the time of the incident. Many were buried under the rubble.

Body parts were found scattered around the incident spot. Police has reached the spot. Rescue operation is underway. The explosion was so powerful that the sound of the blast was heard up to 2 km away.

Villagers nearby told Dainik Bhaskar that when the explosion took place, the ground shook. It felt as if there was an earthquake. The incident spot is Nihal Khedi village, which is 50 km from the district headquarters and about 8 km from Deoband tehsil.

The family members of the people injured in the accident are in a bad state and are crying.

Eyewitnesses said that a fire suddenly broke out in the factory at 7 am on Saturday, then several explosions took place one after the other. The explosion was so severe that the people working inside did not get a chance to come out.

The entire building collapsed in a few seconds. The people working there got buried under the rubble. Eyewitnesses said that the sound of the explosion was heard up to 2 km away. When the explosion happened, it felt as if an earthquake had occurred. Thousands of people from nearby villages reached the spot. Forces from many police stations have been called to the spot.

The forensic team, which arrived after receiving information about the incident, collected evidence.
