New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center has declared June 25 as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. The Center has issued a notification regarding this. Actually, on June 25, 1975, the then Indira Gandhi government declared an emergency in the country. Given this, the Modi government has surrounded the Congress and declared this day as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information on X. He posted, “On June 25, 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, displaying a dictatorial mindset, strangled the soul of our democracy by imposing an emergency on the country. Lakhs of people were jailed without any fault, and the voice of the media was suppressed. The Government of India has decided to celebrate June 25 every year as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. This day will remember the great contribution of all those who endured the inhuman pain of the Emergency of 1975.
Amit Shah further said, “The purpose of this decision taken by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to honour the struggle of millions of people who struggled to revive democracy despite facing innumerable tortures and oppression of the dictatorial government.
