Monsoon stopped in Gujarat, will reach MP after 3 days: Red alert for rain in North-East states

New Delhi: Pre-monsoon activity continues in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan. At the same time, monsoon has stopped after entering Gujarat four days ago. In the last two days, it rained in 10 districts of MP-Rajasthan.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has weakened since June 10-14, due to which the monsoon is getting delayed in Madhya Pradesh. It is likely to enter MP and other states by June 18-19.

A red alert for rain has been issued today i.e. from June 16 to June 19 in the states of North-East including West Bengal (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim).

There may be 64 to 115 mm of rain in these states. Also, the wind can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. Lightning is also expected along with thunder.

According to IMD, the effect of severe heatwave will remain in these states including Bihar and Jharkhand till June 18. At the same time, heatwave will continue in MP, UP, Rajasthan, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal till June 17.

Sikkim CM visits Mangan

Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday took stock of the deteriorating situation in Mangan after heavy rains. He expressed grief over the death of 6 people in Mangan. In Majuwa also, 3 people were killed and many were injured due to landslide. Many houses were also damaged, 67 families were shifted to safer places.

The CM said that we have sought help from the central government. Due to landslides, the roads are closed, in such a situation food items have become expensive. We are helping the people. The family of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. The houses of those whose houses have been damaged will be built.

How will the weather be in future?

There is a red and orange alert for heavy rain in Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal for the next 3-4 days. Here thunderstorms can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour.

There may be rain with thunderstorms in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Also, winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. Such weather can last for 4-5 days.

Cyclonic circulation has formed in south-west Rajasthan, due to which light to moderate rains can occur in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh and winds can blow at a speed of 40-60 km per hour.
