Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Maharashtra on Saturday to inaugurate the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, which is the city’s first fully underground metro line. He will also oversee the inauguration and Bhoomipujan of various development projects in Mumbai.

A 12.69-kilometre section of Metro Line 3, running from Aarey JVLR to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), will be partially operational. The event will be attended by prominent figures including Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, among others.

Upon arrival at the BKC metro station, PM Modi will lead the flagging-off ceremony and take a ride from BKC to Santacruz metro station, engaging with beneficiaries of the Laadki Bahin scheme, students, and workers during the trip. He will also launch a mobile app, MetroConnect3, aimed at improving the travel experience with advanced features. Additionally, a coffee table book showcasing the development of Mumbai’s underground metro will be unveiled, featuring captivating images that reflect its progress.

Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director of MMRC, expressed enthusiasm over the PM’s inauguration of Metro Line 3, declaring it a significant milestone that will revolutionize travel in the city and improve daily commutes.

Highlighting his dedication to farmers, PM Modi will distribute the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, amounting to approximately Rs 20,000 crore, benefiting about 9.4 crore farmers. This will raise the total disbursed under PM-KISAN to around Rs 3.45 lakh crore. He will also launch the fifth instalment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, distributing around Rs 2,000 crore.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will inaugurate over 7,500 projects funded by the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), valued at over Rs 1,920 crore, which will include custom hiring centres, primary processing units, warehouses, sorting and grading units, cold storage, and facilities for post-harvest management. He will also inaugurate 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) with an estimated turnover of about Rs 1,300 crore.

In addition, PM Modi will launch the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology. He will dedicate five solar parks, with a total capacity of 19 MW, across Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana – 2.0 and honour beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.

The Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, a project estimated to cost around Rs 3,310 crore, which will enhance connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane. He will also initiate Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, worth about Rs 2,550 crore, which encompasses the construction of main roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and related utility infrastructure.

Lastly, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for a new administrative building for the Thane Municipal Corporation, projected to cost roughly Rs 700 crore. This high-rise will centralize various municipal offices, improving accessibility for the citizens of Thane.
