Naxal Attack: Following IED attack 2 Jawans killed, 4 injured in Bijapur

Bijapur: 2 STF jawans have been martyred after coming under the grip of IED planted by Naxalites in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. 4 jawans are injured. It is being told that the jawans had gone on an anti-naxal operation. While returning, they came under the grip of an IED near Tarrem in Bijapur.

The police had received information that Naxalites of Darbha division are present in large numbers on the border of Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada districts. Based on this information, a joint team of STF, DRG, Cobra and CRPF was sent for the operation from all three districts.

The martyrs are STF constables Bharat Sahu and Satyer Singh Kange. The injured jawans include Purushottam Nag, Komal Yadav, Siyaram Sori and Sanjay Kumar. They have been referred to Jagdalpur Medical College. After this, everyone will be brought to Raipur from here via helicopter. Martyr Bharat Sahu was a resident of Raipur and Satyer Singh Kange was a resident of Narayanpur.

Security forces killed 12 Naxalites in an encounter on Wednesday on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. The bodies of the killed Naxalites have been recovered. Weapons and other items have also been recovered from the spot. It is said that the encounter lasted for about 6 hours.

At the same time, 2 soldiers including a sub-inspector have been injured in the encounter. The injured sub-inspector Satish Patil is a soldier of Maharashtra’s C-60 force. He has been shot in the left shoulder. He was sent from Banda in Kanker to Gadchiroli by helicopter. It is being told that the encounter took place in the forests of Pankhajoor in Kanker and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra.
