Odisha government introduces new colour code for school buildings

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has introduced a new colour code for all government school buildings, including PM SHRI schools across the state, according to an official statement.

The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has directed all Collectors-cum-Chairmen to implement the uniform colour code for government schools. Previously, under the BJD government, all government school buildings were painted green, along with official buildings. However, after the new government assumed office, the colour of official buildings was changed to a light orange frost with an orange-tan border.

Additionally, the BJP government altered the school uniform colours for classes IX and X, changing them from green to light brown and maroon shortly after taking charge.

Earlier on Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Deputy CMs KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, inaugurated a photo gallery exhibition of the late Biju Patnaik, the legendary leader and former CM, to mark his 109th birth anniversary at Jaydev Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. The exhibition showcases over 100 photographs, highlighting key moments from Biju Patnaik’s life, including his leadership, interactions with global leaders, and his contributions alongside Indian icons from various fields.
