'People will vote for AAP, which gave the cheapest electricity, not BJP': AAP Priyanka Kakkar

New Delhi: AAP National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar expressed strong confidence that the people of Delhi will support the party, which is led by a well-educated Chief Minister and has a positive agenda. She highlighted the party’s accomplishments, such as providing the lowest electricity rates in the country and ensuring 24-hour free electricity. Kakkar noted the model of governance in Delhi, which has resulted in low inflation, low unemployment, and high per capita income along with a higher minimum wage—achievements that she claims the BJP has not managed despite governing 20 states.

“The residents of Delhi have decided to vote for the party with a constructive agenda, represented by an educated CM who has ensured the cheapest electricity in the nation,” said Kakkar, adding that the BJP has failed to deliver similar services under its governance structures.

In a related campaign event, Arvind Kejriwal criticized the BJP, asserting that if elected, they would dismantle five essential services his government has been providing—these include free electricity, water supply, government schools, mohalla clinics, and bus services for women. Kejriwal claimed that the BJP’s actions would lead to monthly losses for families ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. He further accused the BJP of “hooliganism” and expressed confidence that the people of Delhi would show their discontent by voting accordingly.

Responding to allegations from Kejriwal about harassment of AAP workers before the elections, the Election Commission of India noted that there were no written complaints found regarding these claims. The Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
