PM Modi speaks to US President Joe Biden, discusses Poland-Ukraine visit, issues of Indo-Pacific

New Delhi: Days after PM Narendra Modi’s Poland and Ukraine visit, American President Joe Biden spoke with PM Modi about his visit and commended the message of peace given by him.

In a release by the White House it was said that President Joe Biden discussed PM Modi’s recent trip to Poland and Ukraine. The both leaders also discussed the United Nations General Assembly meetings to be held in September.

It was mentioned that President Biden commended the Prime Minister’s Modi’s historic visit to Poland and war-torn Ukraine which was the first by an Indian Prime Minister in decades. President Biden lauded PM Modi’s message of peace and ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine, including its energy sector.

The Leaders of both nations affirmed their continued support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in accordance with international law, on the basis of the UN Charter. The Leaders also emphasized their continued commitment to work together, including through regional groups like the Quad, to contribute to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.

President Biden also took to X and shared details about his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a post on X he said, “I spoke with Prime Minister Modi to discuss his recent trip to Poland and Ukraine, and commended him for his message of peace and ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine. We also affirmed our commitment to work together to contribute to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.”
