PM's Delhi campaign exposes BJP's uncertainty about poll win: Shiv Sena (UBT) Priyanka Chaturvedi

New Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the BJP on Sunday, suggesting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s involvement in the campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections reflects the party’s uncertainty about its chances of winning. Chaturvedi argued that if the BJP were confident in its prospects, Modi wouldn’t need to campaign in the capital.

Additionally, Chaturvedi expressed hope that the Election Commission and the Lieutenant Governor (LG) would investigate the concerns raised by AAP with the same urgency that they have shown toward BJP complaints.

Earlier, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal sent a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, raising serious concerns about the harassment and intimidation of his party’s volunteers by BJP workers. Kejriwal alleged that AAP volunteers in the New Delhi Assembly constituency were being mistreated by both BJP members and the Delhi Police ahead of the election. He cited the case of senior volunteer Chetan, who was allegedly unlawfully detained, physically abused, and falsely charged. Kejriwal claimed that this was part of a broader effort to suppress AAP’s campaign and intimidate its grassroots workers.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with vote counting set for February 8.
