President Murmu to visit Gujarat on final leg of three-state tour

Gandhinagar: President Droupadi Murmu has arrived in Gujarat today, February 27, as the final stop on her three-state tour. She traveled to Vadodara from Madhya Pradesh, where she participated in a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti in Gadha, Chhatarpur. In Gujarat, she plans to visit the Statue of Unity.

Gandhinagar: President Droupadi Murmu has arrived in Gujarat today, February 27, as the final stop on her three-state tour. She traveled to Vadodara from Madhya Pradesh, where she participated in a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti in Gadha, Chhatarpur.

In Gujarat, she plans to visit the Statue of Unity in Ektanagar, paying her respects and witnessing the Narmada Aarti at Kevadia. The Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was inaugurated on October 31, 2018, and stands as the world’s tallest statue at 182 meters (almost 600 feet). It commemorates Patel’s role in uniting India’s 562 princely states and highlights his commitment to the welfare of the people.

Additionally, on February 27, President Murmu will visit the Ekta Skill Development Centre at Kevadia and attend the 44th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. The following day, February 28, she will participate in the third convocation of the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar and visit the Smritivan Earthquake Memorial in Bhuj. On March 1, she will explore Dholavira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient Harappan civilization.

Earlier on this tour, the President was involved in the centenary celebrations of Patna Medical College in Bihar on February 26.
