Public rejected him: Anurag Thakur slams Kejriwal for dodging accountability over CAG reports

New Delhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur has criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for avoiding responsibility related to the financial irregularities highlighted in the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports during the AAP’s governance. Thakur emphasized that Kejriwal, who originally built his political career around CAG reports, has failed to provide answers to both the public and the media regarding the findings of these reports, particularly during the recent Assembly session.

He stated, “The public has rejected him and removed him from power. It is now our responsibility to bring the CAG report before the Assembly.” His remarks were made as the Delhi Assembly commenced its first session from February 24 to 27, where Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena is set to address the House on February 25, followed by the tabling of the CAG reports.

These reports, especially one concerning the excise policy, have sparked controversy over alleged financial mismanagement during the AAP-led government. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta confirmed that the newly elected government would prioritize discussing these CAG reports, which have already been received. The reports are anticipated to reveal significant financial mismanagement that led to losses exceeding Rs 2,026 crore related to the Delhi excise policy, making it a focal point of the upcoming legislative discussions with the BJP now in charge.
