Jaipur: Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, recently emphasized the concept of “concert tourism” as a way to boost tourism in India. Speaking to reporters at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, she explained that the state government is planning to organize various events under this initiative to promote tourism. “We have introduced concert tourism to attract tourists to India and plan to host as many such events as possible,” Kumari said. She mentioned that seven artists recently visited different districts and created videos, which will also be used for promotion.

Concert tourism, which involves people traveling specifically to attend concerts or music festivals, is an emerging industry with significant economic potential for local areas. Kumari further highlighted how events like the IIFA Awards play a crucial role in enhancing tourism, stating that such events help boost the local economy, increase employment opportunities, and promote Rajasthan as a tourist destination.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also spoke about the long-standing relationship between the state and the film industry, which has grown stronger with the 25th edition of IIFA being held in Rajasthan. He invited filmmakers, film industry professionals, and nature enthusiasts from around the world to visit the state, emphasizing its unique culture and natural beauty.

The IIFA Digital Awards, held on March 8, saw notable wins for Kriti Sanon, Jitendra Kumar, Panchayat 3, and Amar Singh Chamkila. The main IIFA Awards ceremony, hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar, began on March 9, with a special performance by Kareena Kapoor Khan honoring her legendary grandfather, filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
