Jaisalmer [Rajasthan]: A suspicious object that police had recovered on May 9 was successfully neutralized in Jaisalmer on Monday. This follows heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after India launched Operation Sindoor on the night of May 7-8 in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam.
Earlier today, a bomb threat was received at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. According to Additional SP Lalit Sharma, the threat was sent via email to the official email address of the Sports Council. Authorities responded promptly, evacuating the stadium immediately, and the Bomb Disposal Squad, assisted by the Dog Squad, is currently investigating.
Sharma confirmed, “The email was sent to the Sports Council’s official email ID, and in response, the stadium was vacated. The Bomb Disposal Squad and the Dog Squad are conducting an investigation.”
This is not the first time Sawai Mansingh Stadium has received such threats. Last week, amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, the stadium was evacuated following a bomb threat issued by the Rajasthan Sports Council president.
After the threat, all personnel and spectators inside the stadium were evacuated, and a large police presence was deployed. Authorities and investigative agencies are thoroughly examining the situation.
Neeraj A Pawan, president of the Rajasthan State Sports Council, explained that the bomb threat was sent via email and forwarded to the police commissioner. The bomb disposal team and frisking units arrived quickly, and the stadium was entirely evacuated for safety.
He added, “We received a threat through email, which was then sent to the police. The bomb squad and frisking teams have arrived, and the investigation continues.”
