Reel hobby causes blast in Gwalior building, MP Police probe reveals

Bhopal: The police investigation into a blast at the Legacy Plaza building in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has revealed that the explosion was caused by two individuals involved in creating a video. The blast, which occurred on Wednesday in the seven-story building, injured two people.

According to the police, the victims—related to each other—were making a video in a sealed room when the incident occurred. To enhance the special effects of their video, they opened a cooking gas cylinder, filling the room with highly flammable liquid petroleum gas. The situation escalated when they switched on a halogen lamp, igniting the gas and causing a massive explosion.

The two victims, identified as Rachna Jaat and Anil Jaat, suffered severe burn injuries. They were immediately rushed to the hospital, where they are in critical condition. Rachna Jaat is said to own two flats in the building. The blast, which took place on the first floor, caused significant damage to the building, shattering glass windows, cracking walls, and creating widespread chaos in the area.

Bomb disposal and forensic teams were sent to the site to assess the damage and collect evidence. Police have confirmed that legal action will be taken against the victims under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for endangering their own lives and the lives of others. Additionally, charges may be added for the extensive damage caused to nearby properties.
