Several schools in Delhi, Noida receive bomb threat, police initiate investigation

New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi and Noida received bomb threats in the morning, prompting police investigations and the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SoP). Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar-1 reported a bomb threat email to the Pandav Nagar police station at 6:40 AM. The information was relayed to the control room, and the East District bomb disposal squad was dispatched. After a thorough search, no suspicious items were found, leading the school principal to inform parents via email that the campus would be closed for the day for student safety, with classes moving online.

Shiv Nadar School in Noida also received a similar threat, leading the local police, bomb squad, fire brigade, dog squad, and bomb disposal team to conduct checks at the site. Senior police officials were present, and the cyber team began investigating the email source. The Noida police urged the public to remain calm and ignore rumors.

St. Stephens College in North Delhi was another institution that received a bomb threat email at 7:42 AM, prompting immediate action from the bomb disposal team.

This incident follows a previous crackdown by Delhi Police on a series of hoax bomb threats sent to over 400 schools, where a juvenile was arrested after a technical investigation by the Cyber Cell. The accused, a public school student, had utilized anonymous and encrypted email services to send the threats. Police recovered a laptop and two mobile phones from him, and forensic analysis confirmed his involvement in multiple threatening emails sent to schools, including a significant incident on January 8, 2025, when 23 schools received similar threats, causing panic and disruptions in academic activities.
