New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan sustained a minor back/muscle injury while filming an intense action sequence for Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King at Mumbai’s Golden Tobacco Studio. Though the injury isn’t serious, medical advice has prompted a one-month rest, during which the production has been temporarily halted.

SRK reportedly flew to the U.S. (some sources mention he later moved to the U.K.) to seek specialized treatment and recover with family support . As a result of the pause, filming initially scheduled for July–August has been pushed back, with production likely to restart in September.

King, directed by Siddharth Anand, features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, among others. It’s poised to be a high-octane, internationally shot action drama, and its production had been in full swing prior to this setback.
