Kanpur: The incidents of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train continue to escalate. A recent incident was reported in Kanpur, where stones were thrown at the Vande Bharat train traveling from Delhi to Varanasi. During this incident, the glass of one of the AC chair car coaches was shattered near the Panki station in Kanpur on the Vande Bharat Express train number 22435, which was headed to Delhi from Varanasi. The stone pelting caused panic among the passengers in the affected coach. The train driver notified the control room about the incident, and subsequently, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Panki registered a case against the unidentified stone throwers and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Once again, there has been stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train. Joint teams of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have conducted patrols between Panki and Bhaurpur. According to information received from the Railways, stone pelting occurred on the 20-coach Vande Bharat train traveling from Delhi to Varanasi. On Wednesday, this train departed a little late from Kanpur Central. At 7:05 PM, as the train was entering the outer signal at Panki station, stones were thrown at the C-7 coach. One stone hit the window of the C-7 coach, causing it to shatter and creating panic among the passengers. Many passengers were so frightened that they hid under their seats.

It’s noteworthy that in the past year, there have been more than seven incidents of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train at the same location in Kanpur. Incidents of stone pelting have also been reported between Panki and Bhaurpur on the Delhi route, as well as between Chakeri and Prempur stations on the Howrah route. This particular location has seen the most attacks on the Vande Bharat Express train. Meanwhile, a train incident was also reported near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh on the Delhi-Mumbai route, where a freight train derailed. Further information regarding this matter is still awaited.
