Stones pelted on Mahabodhi express in Prayagraj, 3 suspects detained

Prayagraj: The Mahabodhi Express train going from New Delhi to Gaya (Bihar) was pelted with stones in Prayagraj on Monday night. Many passengers were injured in this incident. The train was stopped at Mirzapur station and the injured were treated. The RPF team has also detained 3 suspects of this stone-pelting incident.

The Mahabodhi Express reached Prayagraj Junction at 8.33 pm on Monday and departed at 9.06 pm. At around 9.16 pm, stone pelting started on it before the Yamuna Bridge. About 50 to 60 stones were thrown at the train. Some stones damaged the window of the S-3 coach and entered and hit the passengers leaving them injured.

As soon as the information of stone pelting was received, the loco pilot stopped the train. On receiving the information, the RPF team reached the spot, but by then the train had left.
