Stream of visitors at Delhi CM Rekha Gupta's Shalimar Bagh residence

New Delhi: A significant crowd gathered outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in Shalimar Bagh on Sunday morning, as supporters from all over the city came to congratulate her.

The atmosphere was lively and filled with excitement as numerous individuals arrived to express their admiration for the newly appointed chief minister. Many took the opportunity to snap pictures with CM Gupta and present her with bouquets.

Since her inauguration, her modest home has seen a steady stream of visitors. CM Gupta has been gracious in meeting her supporters and acknowledging their good wishes. Notably, her former principal from Daulat Ram College, Savita Roy, visited her on Saturday, sharing how proud she was and expressing her blessings for Gupta.

The day before, CM Gupta had an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, coinciding with her Cabinet ministers overseeing the repair of pothole-ridden roads and addressing pending projects throughout the city.

During her meeting with PM Modi, CM Gupta expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a “daughter of Delhi,” according to one of her aides. Before leaving for the PM’s residence, she greeted her supporters from the balcony of her Shalimar Bagh home, announcing through a public address system her intention to convey, on behalf of all women of the city, her thanks for being chosen to lead.

“On the first day in office, we approved PM Modi’s Ayushman Bharat scheme during our inaugural Cabinet meeting,” she remarked, promising not to waste any time in serving her constituents.

“We aim to fulfill the vision of a developed Delhi as envisioned by PM Modi,” she added.

Later, the Chief Minister convened a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) to discuss infrastructure issues and oversee improvements to damaged and dug-up roads in Delhi. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma inspected the Barapullah Phase-3 project, assuring that payments and environmental clearances that had reportedly delayed progress would be expedited.
