Relief from fake international calls
Recently, the government has instructed telecom companies to block all incoming international fake calls displaying Indian mobile numbers. The Department of Telecommunications, i.e., DoT, said in a statement issued on May 26 that DoT and Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have developed a system to identify such international fake calls and prevent them from reaching any Indian telecom customers. Now instructions have been issued to TSPs to stop such incoming international fake calls.

A senior official of the Licom company said that we are testing it in limited numbers to know the result of how CNP is working. In this case, the name of the caller will also be visible along with the number during the incoming call. We will share the results of the testing with the Department of Telecommunication so that a practical decision can be made about the proposed service.
