Two murders in 24 hours shock Patna

Patna: The city of Patna is reeling after two murders occurred within a span of just 24 hours, raising concerns over the law-and-order situation in Bihar.

The latest victim, identified as Nawab Rai from Laharia village under Athmalgola police station, was found dead on Monday morning in an agricultural field on the outskirts of Patna. He had multiple wounds on his body.

Abhishek Singh, SDPO-2 of Barh range, stated that upon receiving information about the incident, police reached the scene, recovered the body, and have called in the Forensic Science Laboratory to gather evidence. An investigation is ongoing to determine how and why the murder happened.

The villagers gathered at the site, creating a protest and demanding the quick arrest of those responsible. Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem and are examining the deceased’s mobile phone for clues. An FIR has been registered under relevant murder sections against unknown suspects.

Just a day earlier, another man was murdered in Bisarpura village, Naubatpur police station area. The victim, Ranjit Singh, was beaten to death by his cousin with a blunt object. He was taken to AIIMS hospital but died of his injuries during treatment on Sunday night.

The accused remains at large, and police are actively searching for him. An FIR has also been filed in connection with this case.
