According to the Meteorological Department, moist winds will blow in the Terai and eastern areas for the next three days. There may be drizzle in the areas of southern UP and Varanasi region.
This is the first time in 15 years that there will not be a single heat wave in the 9 days of Nautapa. The monsoon coming from the Bay of Bengal may arrive about four days before June 18.
On the first day of Nautapa, 20 districts received heavy rain. The roof of the ACP office collapsed due to storm and rain in Ghaziabad. Inspector Virendra Kumar Mishra died after being buried under the debris.
It has been raining in Mathura since late night. Premanand Maharaj took out a padyatra with an umbrella. Despite the rain, hundreds of his devotees stood for darshan. Several feet of water filled the roads in Mathura.
There was so much rain in Bareilly’s Baheri that the roads have turned into ponds. The colonies are flooded up to the waist. In Baraut of Baghpat, an underpass was filled with 4-5 feet of water due to the rain. Many bikes drowned in it. Meerut received the highest rainfall of 53 mm (2.08 inches) in 24 hours.
While it was raining on one side, on the other side, many cities including Lucknow and Jhansi experienced severe heat. Jhansi was the hottest city in the afternoon. The temperature here was recorded at 42.1 degrees. Moradabad was second with 40.5 degrees and Agra was third with 39.5 degrees.

During this time, problems like dehydration, vomiting, upset stomach, dizziness, fatigue etc. become common. To avoid this, cover your head while going out, drink lots of water, consume lemonade, lassi, buttermilk, juice and seasonal fruits.
