Heavy Rain lash UP: Flood like situation in Saharanpur; Alert in 14 districts

Varanasi, June 28: Due to the rain in the mountains, flood-like conditions have arisen in Saharanpur. Rainwater has entered 10 villages, due to which more than 6 kutcha houses have collapsed. 3 goats died after getting buried under the debris. The road leading to the sports college has been submerged. Due to the rain, the Hindon river is in spate. A crane engaged in bridge construction was washed away here.

This morning, Saharanpur witnessed heavy rain for an hour. Apart from this, it is raining intermittently in 8 cities, including Jhansi, Bhadohi, and Raebareli. It has rained so much in Jhansi that the roads are flooded with one foot of water.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 14 districts today. There is a possibility of lightning in 55 districts. The Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain the same for 4 days.

In the last 24 hours, 15 cities received an average of 0.8 mm of rain, which is 87 percent less than the normal 5.8 mm. From June 1 till now, the state has received 76.3 mm of rain, which is 3 percent more than the normal 74.1 mm.

Heavy rain in Sonbhadra

Talking about Friday, there was heavy rain for 2 hours in Sonbhadra. Due to this the roads became like ponds. Water entered people’s houses. Jalaun also received heavy rain in the afternoon. A farmer died here due to lightning.

Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Regional Meteorological Center, Lucknow, said that there is a possibility of good rain in entire Uttar Pradesh between 28th and 30th June.

Jhansi witnessed heavy rain for 4 hours from Saturday morning

Due to this, the streets were flooded with water up to one feet. Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh, meteorologist of Bharari Krishi Vigyan Kendra, said that monsoon rains are occurring in entire Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Jhansi for the next four days from today. During this time, there is also a possibility of strong winds and lightning.

Rain in Fatehpur since morning, temperature dropped by 5 degrees

It has been raining in Fatehpur since Saturday morning. The weather became pleasant after the rain. People got relief from the humid heat. While the temperature was 34°C in the morning, it dropped to 29°C after the rain.
