Uproar during Delhi Assembly Session; 12 MLAs including Atishi, Gopal Rai suspended

Aam Aadmi Party MLAs created a ruckus during the address of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena in the Delhi Assembly. As soon as the address started, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs started protesting against the removal of Bhimrao Ambedkar’s photo from the Chief Minister and Minister’s office.

On this, the Assembly Speaker expelled all the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs from the House for the whole day. Former Chief Minister and MLA Atishi was also suspended.

Lt. Governor VK Saxena’s address was interrupted due to the ruckus. LG said in the House that increasing revenue is the priority of the government. It will implement short, medium and long-term plans for cleaning Yamuna and air pollution. Efforts will be made to make Delhi the cleanest city and first in the cleanliness ranking.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Samman’ will determine the direction of my government, my government is fully aware of the increasing expectations and aspirations of the people.. My government will pay special attention to these 10 areas – corruption-free administration, women empowerment, welfare of the poor, improvement in health services, good education model, world-class roads, clean and pollution-free Delhi, clean Yamuna, clean water and regularization of unauthorized colonies.

The Lieutenant Governor mentioned the future plans of the BJP government in the address and also discussed the failures of the previous Aam Aadmi Party government. During the Lieutenant Governor’s address, BJP MLAs were seen raising slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’.

AAP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, who was suspended from the Delhi Assembly, protested in the assembly premises. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta suspended 11 AAP MLAs including Leader of Opposition Atishi.
