Hardoi: In an unfortunate incident, a truck loaded with sand overturned in Hardoi leaving 8 people of a family dead. 8 people of the same family including children who were sleeping outside the house died on the spot when a truck filled with sand overturned. Now only one girl is left in the family whose condition is called critical.
The deceased include husband-wife, 4 children, son-in-law and granddaughter. The police, who reached the spot after receiving the information, have sent the bodies for postmortem. The accident took place 50 km from the city on the Kanpur Highway near Mallawan Chungi at 1.30 am on Wednesday night.
Identification of the deceased
The deceased were identified as Awadhesh (45), his wife Sudha (42), 3 children – Sunaina (11), Lalla (5), Budhha (4), and son-in-law Karan (25), his wife Hero (22) and daughter Komal (5).
The truck was removed with a JCB
People live in huts on the roadside at the Unnao road in Mallawan town. An eyewitness said the accident took place when they all were sleeping., After hearing screams, people ran to the spot where they found that family was buried under the sand. Police reached the spot and started removing the sand but it was late as the time sand was completely removed, 8 people were buried to death.
The sand-laden truck which overturned leaving 8 from a family dead was removed with the help of JCB. Police have taken the driver into custody and is being interroagted.
In this ghastly incident, only one girl of the family survived. The injured girl Bittu has been admitted to the nearby community health center where her condition is being called critical.
The incident is being investigated. Action will be taken after the investigation.
