Dehradun, June 21: The notification for the long-pending Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand has been issued. Panchayat elections will be held in 12 other districts of the state, except Haridwar district. The process of Panchayat elections will start from 24 June. Voting will be held in two phases in all 12 districts of the state. The first phase of voting will be held on 10 July and the second phase on 15 July. Counting of votes will be held in one phase on 19 July.
Uttarakhand State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar announced the announcement of Panchayat elections in a press conference. The notification has been issued from June 21. Election officers in the districts will announce the notification. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that the Election Commission is fully prepared for the Panchayat elections.
Elections will be held in 89 development blocks and 7499 Gram Panchayats in 12 districts of Uttarakhand. Elections will be held for a total of 66 thousand 418 posts. In which voting is to be held for 5587 Gram Panchayat members and 7499 Gram Pradhan posts.
While elections are to be held for 2974 posts of member area panchayat and 358 posts of member district panchayat. For which a total of 8276 polling centers have been set up across the state and 10 thousand 529 polling stations have been set up.
