Worked for Progress: PM Modi pays homage to former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief on the demise of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Manohar Joshi. PM paid homage to Manohar Joshi while saying that during his tenure he made parliamentary processes more vibrant and Participative.

PM while sharing a picture with Manohar Joshi said, “Pained by the passing away of Shri Manohar Joshi Ji. He was a veteran leader who spent years in public service and held various responsibilities at the municipal, state and national level. As Maharashtra CM, he worked tirelessly for the state’s progress. He also made noteworthy contributions as a Union Minister. During his tenure as the Lok Sabha Speaker, he strove to make our Parliamentary processes more vibrant and participative.”

He added that Manohar Joshi Ji will also be remembered for his diligence as a legislator, having had the honour of serving in all four legislatures. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti.

Who is Manohar Joshi?

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi died at a Mumbai hospital today, two days after he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was 86. The funeral of Mr Joshi will be held at the Shivaji Park crematorium in Mumbai today. Mr Joshi was admitted to the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. “Manohar Joshi, Ex-Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was admitted at PD Hinduja Hospital on 21st February 2024. He suffered a cardiac arrest and is severely ill. He was in the ICU under close observation.
