Two youths burnt alive after bike hits electric pole in Mathura

Mathura, June 24: In Mathura, two youths returning after buying a new bike were burnt alive after their bike collided with an electric pole. The accident took place near Hathi Baba Ashram on Mant-Vrindavan road.

At around 1 o’clock in the night, Azad, a resident of Aligarh, near Hathi Baba Ashram, informed the PRV that an Apache bike collided with an electric pole. The bike caught fire and both the youths were burning alive.

On receiving the information, PRV 112 and fire brigade team reached the spot. The fire brigade extinguished the fire. Both the youths died while being taken to the hospital in critical condition. The part below the neck of both the youths was completely burnt.

Mant police station in-charge inspector Jasbir Singh said- Police has sent both the bodies for post-mortem. An electricity pole also broke in the accident. Both the youths have been identified as Lakhan and Tejpal of Jahangirpur village of Mant.

A youth from the village said- He had bought a new bike yesterday

Vishnu, a resident of Jahangirpur, said- Lakhan had bought a new Apache bike yesterday. The family members said that he had about one and a half lakh rupees in cash. That too has been burnt. Police have also found burnt notes at the scene of the incident.

The youth of the village said- it is not an incident but an accident

Vishnu of Jahangirpur said- Lakhan and Tejpal of my village were coming by bike. At night, lightning struck the tree and the pole broke. Then the bike riders fell and petrol spilled. After this, the electric wire fell. This caused a fire. Then both of them were burnt alive.
