“The people of Bihar have voted for a developed Bihar. The people of Bihar have voted for a prosperous Bihar.”
“During the election campaign, I had urged the people of Bihar for record voting, and the people of Bihar have broken all records.”

‘We Are Servants of the People’: PM Modi
Addressing party workers, he said:
“This resounding victory, this unbreakable faith… the people of Bihar have blown everyone away. We NDA folks, we are but the servants of the people.”
He added:
“We keep winning the hearts of the people through our hard work, and we’ve already stolen the hearts of the masses, so today Bihar has shown — once again, an NDA government.”
Celebrations: ‘Makhana Kheer’ & Chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’
Modi began his address with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and in a lighter moment, promised:

JP Nadda Says People Rejected ‘Jungle Raj’
BJP national president JP Nadda credited the verdict to PM Modi’s bond with the people.
“The people of Bihar have given a clear mandate and bestowed their blessings on the politics of development, a proactive government, and the double-engine government.”
He added that the mandate is a clear rejection of the opposition’s politics:
The Mahagathbandhan “did not want to run Bihar with the help of honest supporters, but with the backing of infiltrators.”
Calling the win a political “tsunami,” Nadda said:
“Everyone has unwavering faith in the Honorable Prime Minister ji.”
Opposition and Others React
RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav managed to secure a win in Raghopur by over 14,000 votes after a tough battle.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, whose party won four seats and leads in another, said:
“We accept the mandate of the people of Bihar… I want to thank the people of Bihar for voting for AIMIM.”
He also thanked Nitish Kumar and vowed to work for Seemanchal.
Bihar Election Results 2025
The results have stunned the Mahagathbandhan, with only a handful of its candidates managing to retain their seats.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), on Friday, registered a decisive victory in Bihar standing out as one of its strongest-performing regions.
With this emphatic mandate across the state, the NDA-led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar — is set to form the government in Bihar with a clear and comfortable majority.
The results of the Bihar elections were already clear. Trends for 243 seats indicate a clean sweep for the NDA. The NDA lead with over 200 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is leading in 38.
The NDA gain more than 65 seats compared to 2020, while the Mahagathbandhan is losing almost the same number of seats.
The JDU, which was limited to 43 seats last time, is leading on 75+ seats this time. This means the Nitish Kumar government is likely to return to power, and Nitish Kumar could be sworn in as CM for the 10th time. Meanwhile, the BJP, with a lead in 90 seats, is emerging as the single largest party.
The RJD is leading in 29 seats, while the Congress, contesting 61 seats, is leading in only 4. Prashant Kishore’s party, Jan Suraj, which contested on 243 seats, does not appear to be opening its account.
Speaking of big names, Tejashwi Yadav has once again taken the lead in Raghopur. His elder brother, Tej Pratap, is trailing in Mahua. Samrat Chaudhary is leading in Tarapur. Pawan Singh’s wife is consistently trailing in Karakat.
Independents, along with other candidates, are leading in five other seats. This time, 67.10% voter turnout was recorded in the two phases of Bihar elections. This is a new record, nearly 10% higher than the 2020 assembly elections.
NDA leads in 200+ seats

Trends as of 10:45 am
Counting Process Began at 8 AM
The counting process for all 243 Assembly seats commenced at 8 a.m., beginning with the scrutiny of postal ballots. This was followed by the counting of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) votes from 8.30 a.m., taking place under extensive multi-tier security arrangements across the state.
Candidates from both alliances expressed confidence in their performance. Leaders from the NDA asserted that the people of Bihar had reposed faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s work toward the state’s development.
The Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, claimed that Bihar had “voted for change” and expressed optimism that Tejashwi Yadav would form the next government.
By 9 am, Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Choudhary were leading from Lakhisarai and Tarapur. BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav was ahead in Danapur.
Counting of votes for all 243 constituencies began at 8 am amid tight security. Officials began tallying postal ballots, with the counting of EVM votes scheduled to start at 8:30 am.
Security Arrangements Done
Elaborate security arrangements are in place, with 4,372 counting tables and over 18,000 counting agents overseeing the process. Most exit polls predict a comfortable victory for the NDA, with some projecting the Mahagathbandhan to win.
According to the ECI’s official press note, 2,616 candidates and 12 recognised political parties participated in the two-phase polls on November 6 and 11, and none requested repolling in any constituency.
The main election contest in the Bihar elections is between the National Democratic Alliance, led by CM Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav’s Mahagathbandhan.
In the 2020 election, the NDA secured a majority in the assembly and won 125 seats, with Nitish Kumar again taking oath as Chief Minister. However, in August 2022, Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with the BJP and resigned as Chief Minister, forming a government with the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan.
The stage is set for a crucial day in Bihar as the counting of votes for the Assembly elections has begun. With extensive arrangements in place and strict protocols to ensure transparency, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is geared up to deliver a smooth and credible counting process across the state.
Postal ballots were counted first and Fourteen EVMs will be counted in one round, with fourteen tables set up at each counting center.
Counting will take place across all 243 Assembly constituencies in the state. According to officials, 243 Returning Officers (ROs) will oversee the process, assisted by 243 Counting Observers, in the presence of contesting candidates and their authorised agents.
A total of 4,372 counting tables have been set up, each manned by a counting supervisor, assistant, and micro-observer. Over 18,000 counting agents appointed by candidates will monitor the counting process to ensure fairness and transparency.
During the EVM counting process, Control Units will be presented to the counting agents to verify intact seals and matching serial numbers with those recorded in Form 17C (Part I). The number of votes recorded in the EVMs will be cross-checked with Form 17C entries, and in case of any discrepancy, VVPAT slips from the concerned polling station will be mandatorily counted.
After completion of EVM counting, a random selection of five polling stations per constituency will be made for VVPAT verification. The slips will be matched with the EVM results in the presence of candidates and their counting agents. The final results will be compiled and released round-wise and constituency-wise by the respective ROs.
Official results will be available on the ECI’s results portal — https://results.eci.gov.in.
The Commission has advised the public and media to rely only on the official ECI portal for accurate and verified updates, warning against misinformation from unofficial sources. TV channels and digital media platforms have also been cautioned to ensure accuracy in reporting.
