In Chandigarh, the administration has ramped up preparations for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026. Seven centers have been set up in the city for the exam. DC Nishant Yadav, while reviewing the preparations, said that the security of exam materials will be handled by the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
He mentioned that candidates entering the exam centers will undergo two levels of checks. The first check will be done by the police, while the second will be conducted by a professional agency appointed by the National Testing Agency. Duty magistrates have been posted at each center to monitor the exam process, maintain law and order, and handle any emergency situations.
The administration has advised all candidates to carry their admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID on the exam day. Candidates are also urged to reach their centers at least an hour before the exam starts.
3800 students will appear
The NEET-UG 2026 exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will be held on June 21, 2026. Around 3,800 candidates are expected to participate in this exam. A total of seven centers has been set up in various schools across Chandigarh for the exam.
To ensure exam confidentiality and security, all confidential exam materials, including question papers, will be transported from designated banks to the exam centers under strict supervision of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and the respective center superintendents. The administration says that security protocols will be strictly followed throughout the process to make sure the exam takes place in a fair and secure environment.
Strict arrangements to prevent cheating and for monitoring:
Electronic jammers have been installed at all exam centers to prevent the use of any electronic or mobile devices and other unfair means during the exams. Candidates will go through a two-stage security check. The first check will be done by the police, while the second check will be carried out by a professional agency appointed by the National Testing Agency.
For the convenience of the candidates, all centers are being provided with basic facilities like drinking water, proper seating arrangements, adequate lighting, ventilation, and cleanliness. The DC has appealed to the general public to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the exams.
