Mumbai: Social media influencer and model Nidhi Tiwari, 30, died by suicide at her home in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, police said. The circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated.
Nidhi’s body was reportedly found hanging at her residence in Bhusa Mod on Saturday. Her family members took her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The exact circumstances that led to her death have not yet been established. Police are examining information provided by her family, including details of conversations she reportedly had before her death, along with other circumstances preceding the incident.
Family Shares Details of Her Final Hours
According to her family, Nidhi had been speaking to someone over the phone on Saturday evening. Following the conversation, she reportedly posted an emotional message on Facebook.
She later locked herself inside her room and, according to the family, refused food and asked them to leave her alone.
When she did not respond or open the door for a prolonged period the following morning, her family contacted the police.
Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and have advised against drawing conclusions about the reason for her death before the investigation is completed.
Nidhi Was Building Career as Model and Content Creator
According to locals, Nidhi aspired to pursue a career in acting and had been working as a model while creating digital content. She had been using social media platforms to build her public profile.
She won the ‘Miss Pretty India’ title in 2024.
Nidhi had a substantial social media following, with around 16 lakh followers across platforms. She reportedly had approximately 9 lakh followers on Facebook and 7 lakh on Instagram.
