Noida, Uttar Pradesh: A portion of an under-construction shop collapsed in the Noida Phase-24 area of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, officials said. No casualties have been reported so far.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and started monitoring the situation. Debris removal work has also been initiated.
Police, Fire Teams Deployed at Site
Police and fire department personnel are present at the location and are carrying out necessary procedures. Officials said further details regarding the incident are awaited.
The exact reason behind the collapse has not been confirmed yet.
Similar Building Collapse Incident Reported in Delhi
Meanwhile, a separate building collapse incident was reported earlier in North Delhi’s Rohini area, where a 42-year-old man died and several others were feared trapped after an under-construction structure collapsed.
According to police, a PCR call was received regarding the collapse of a structure at G Block, Sector-16, Rohini. Following this, police teams reached the location and secured the area.
Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure to ensure smooth movement of rescue vehicles.
Rescue Operation Conducted in Rohini
During the rescue operation, a 42-year-old man identified as Ram Kishore was pulled out from the debris and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Another worker, identified as 35-year-old Ravi, was rescued safely.
Officials said the building owner and several labourers were suspected to be trapped under the debris. Rescue teams from the Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Service, NDRF and MCD were involved in the operation.
Heavy machinery, including JCB machines and cranes, was deployed to remove concrete slabs and speed up the rescue efforts.
