New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married journalist Nidhi Razdan. The couple announced the news through social media posts on Saturday, sharing photographs together and describing the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Abdullah posted photographs with Razdan on social media and wrote, “A new journey began yesterday,” while tagging her in the post. His message indicated that the wedding took place on Friday, October 30.
Razdan also shared a post, writing, “It’s done bro,” and tagged the Chief Minister. The posts quickly drew attention, given their public profiles and Abdullah’s position as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
The couple have not shared further details about the ceremony.
Omar Abdullah’s Previous Marriage
The announcement comes nearly three months after the Supreme Court dissolved Abdullah’s marriage to Payal Abdullah on July 31, 2026, following a settlement between the two.
Omar and Payal married in September 1994 and have two sons, Zahir and Zamir. They had been living separately for several years.
Abdullah had approached the courts seeking a divorce, but his plea was initially rejected by a family court and later by the Delhi High Court. The matter eventually reached the Supreme Court, where both sides agreed to settle their dispute through mediation.
The Supreme Court dissolved the marriage after the couple reached an agreement and decided to withdraw their pending disputes.
