The spokesperson for the Pakistan Army’s media wing, ISPR, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, winked at a female journalist during a press briefing. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Journalist Absa Komal had asked Chaudhry how the allegations against Imran Khan, such as posing a national security threat, being anti-state, and working at the behest of Delhi, differed from previous accusations, and whether any new action was expected.
In response, Chaudhry sarcastically remarked, “Add a fourth point: he (Imran Khan) is also mentally ill.” He then smiled and winked at the journalist, which led to him being trolled on social media.
One user wrote on X that all of this is happening in front of the cameras. Democracy is dead in Pakistan. Another user commented that the country has become a joke.
Chaudhry calls Imran Khan a narcissist
Chaudhry had also attacked Imran Khan a few days ago, calling him a “narcissist.” He alleged that Imran Khan believes that if he is not in power, nothing should exist.
Chaudhry also alleged that those meeting Imran Khan in jail are being used to incite hatred against the army. He said that no one will be allowed to create a rift between the Pakistani army and the public, as the constitution grants rights but also imposes limitations, especially in matters of national security.
