Pali: Three workers suffered serious injuries and two others went missing after a major fire broke out at a factory in Rajasthan’s Pali district late Sunday night. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in the early hours of Monday after an extensive operation, while the search for the missing workers continued.
The fire erupted at a factory in Gwar village, in Phase IV of the district’s industrial area. Around 17 workers were reportedly present at the premises when the flames broke out and began spreading rapidly. Thick smoke filled the area, causing panic as emergency teams rushed to the site.
The three injured workers were taken to a hospital for treatment. After receiving first aid, they were referred to Jodhpur because of the seriousness of their injuries.
The whereabouts of two other workers remain unknown. Their colleagues and family members have been waiting for information as rescue teams continue searching the factory premises.
Firefighters Demolish Factory Wall to Reach Blaze
Fire department personnel and police teams reached the factory after receiving information about the fire. Given the scale of the blaze, additional fire tenders were called in from Pali, Sumerpur, Rani, Falna and Sojat.
The operation proved difficult because of the intensity of the flames. To improve access to the building, a section of the factory wall was demolished with the help of a JCB machine. This allowed firefighters to enter the premises and tackle the fire from inside.
Teams continued working to contain the blaze, which was eventually brought under control in the early hours of Monday.
The firefighting operation was followed by efforts to locate the two missing workers. According to available information, their mobile phones were ringing, but calls were going unanswered. This has added to the concern surrounding their disappearance, although officials have not confirmed where they are or what happened to them.
Police, Administrative Teams Inspect Factory
Personnel from the Industrial Police Station reached the scene, along with CO City Manglesh Chundawat and other administrative officials. They inspected the premises and reviewed the firefighting and rescue work.
Police and fire department teams have been coordinating their efforts to check the factory and determine whether anyone else was affected. The two missing workers are suspected to have been inside when the fire started, but their presence and condition have not yet been officially confirmed.
The cause of the fire is also unknown. Officials are expected to investigate the circumstances once the immediate emergency work is completed and assess the damage caused to the factory.
For now, locating the missing workers remains the priority. Their condition and the full extent of the incident are yet to be established.
