Dehradun: On Tuesday, a Swift car fell into a deep ravine in Pithoragarh, killing two people. The accident erupted in chaos. Passersby and villagers rushed to the scene to help. Police were informed during the incident, which occurred four kilometers from their home.

Locals Rush to Help, Police Informed

Police arrived at the scene, pulled the injured from the ditch, and an ambulance was immediately called. The accident occurred in Boyal village, under the Gangolihat tehsil. One person died at the scene.

Gangolihat’s Kotwal Kailash Chandra Joshi said that the police took him to Community Health Centre Gangolihat with the help of 108 ambulance, where he also died during treatment.

One Dies on the Spot, Another During Treatment

According to reports, a Swift car, number UK-05 TA-5117, lost control and fell into a deep ravine in Boyal village, a judicial panchayat, about 18 kilometers from the Gangolihat tehsil headquarters. Upon receiving information about the accident, a local police team immediately arrived at the scene and a rescue operation was launched. The injured were pulled from the ravine.

In the accident, Bhupal Singh (36), son of Sher Singh, a resident of Boyle village, died on the spot. Shivnath (65) was seriously injured. Police transported the seriously injured Shivnath to the Community Health Center, Gangolihat, using a 108 ambulance, where he also succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Village in Mourning

The village of Boyle is mourning the loss of two villagers in this accident. The families of the deceased are inconsolable, and the entire area is in mourning. Shiv Nath was a former soldier and was returning from Gangolihat. Bhupal Singh was the driver.

Police have sent both bodies for postmortem examination. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Initially, road conditions and vehicle loss are suspected.
