Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday pledged to transform Bihar into a key hub for the ‘Make in India’ initiative, asserting that only the double-engine government of the NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, could ensure clean governance and rapid development in the state.
‘Bihar Will Become a Make in India Powerhouse’
Addressing a massive rally in Arrah, PM Modi said that the ‘Make in India’ mission has gained global recognition and that Bihar’s inclusion in the movement is the government’s next major goal.
“Our goal for Bihar is that it becomes a hub of this momentous mission,” he declared.
Citing examples of progress, the Prime Minister noted Bihar’s success in the fisheries sector, saying:
“Earlier, Bihar used to import fish from other states. Today, it exports fish — this is the result of the NDA government’s policies.”
NDA’s Vision: Empowerment and Development
PM Modi described the NDA’s manifesto as “honest and visionary,” focused on empowerment and upliftment rather than hollow promises.
“Every promise, every plan is dedicated to Bihar’s rapid development,” he said, adding that the NDA’s agenda centers on clean and transparent governance.
Attack on Opposition: ‘Jungle Raj vs. Double-Engine Growth’
Taking aim at the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), PM Modi accused the RJD and Congress of spreading chaos and falsehoods.
“On one side is the NDA’s honest manifesto, and on the other are the jungle raj folks. They have turned their manifesto into a document of lies, deceit, and throwing dust in people’s eyes,” he said.
He added that the infighting between RJD and Congress has worsened:
“Neither was Congress heard in the manifesto, nor are they being considered in the campaigning. Even before elections, so much hatred has grown that after the polls, they will start smashing each other’s heads.”
Focus on Jobs and Agriculture
Highlighting job creation as a key focus, PM Modi announced that the NDA aims to create one crore jobs in Bihar in the coming years.
“The youth of Bihar should get opportunities in their own state and bring more glory to it,” he said.
He also promised enhanced support for farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, announcing an additional ₹3,000 on top of the existing ₹6,000 annual assistance.
Boosting Dairy and Rural Livelihoods
PM Modi lauded the Bihar Dairy Mission, crediting it with improving livelihoods and incomes for thousands of families.
“We have seen a remarkable change in the lives of many residents because of this mission,” he noted, emphasizing that the NDA’s goal is to ensure sustainable rural growth.
‘Double-Engine Government for Bihar’s Bright Future’
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister reiterated that Bihar’s development depends on the synergy between the central and state governments.
“Only a double-engine government can ensure Bihar’s prosperity and make it a shining part of the Make in India revolution,” he said to loud cheers from the crowd.
