Yamunanagar: A major accident occurred in Yamunanagar on Tuesday morning after a Poclain machine suddenly fell into the West Yamuna Canal near the Tirthnagar bridge.
The machine was engaged in ongoing work near the canal at the time of the incident. The accident triggered panic among workers and local residents present nearby.
Rescue Operation Launched After Accident
After receiving information about the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations with the help of local residents.
Following considerable efforts, the driver trapped inside the machine’s cabin was safely pulled out.
Due to his critical condition, he was immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors said his condition remains serious.
Police Investigating Cause of Accident
The accident reportedly took place near the Tirthnagar Bridge on the West Yamuna Canal.
Officials said it is still unclear how the heavy machine suddenly fell into the canal. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
